“On this anniversary of the war against Ukraine, Settled mourns with others the tragic loss of life, homes and livelihoods; and the grief, trauma and forced migration experienced by so many.

“Settled is pleased to contribute by providing free, multilingual immigration and resettlement advice to Ukrainians coming to the UK since last March.

“Our service includes a specialist lawyer and an outreach worker (both Ukrainian), and a dedicated team of volunteers. We also provided expert training to many public authorities and charities, and to the Ukrainian Bar Association.

“We echo the heartfelt thanks of Ukrainian service users to both the British Government and host families in the various UK schemes. We also echo the urgent calls for new Homes For Ukraine sponsors as the war sadly continues, and previous placements end. We call on the Government to continue payments to these sponsors and local authorities for as long as needed. We also ask for better harmonisation between the schemes: including new payments for Family Scheme hosts, and permitted re-matching from the Family scheme to Homes For Ukraine scheme.

“We are particularly concerned about the significant numbers of Ukrainians becoming homeless, and call on the government to implement the recommendations of the All Party Parliamentary Group on homelessness (Ukrainian) that Settled was part of.”
