The Transition Period is nearly at its end and benefit rules will change for those who arrive in the UK on or after 1 January 2021.

If you are an EU Citizen living in the UK and are receiving benefits, such as Universal Credit, you will be able to continue to do so after 31 December 2020 when the Transition Period ends.

However, to continue to be eligible for benefits you will need to be able to provide evidence you were living in the UK by 31 December 2020 and apply to the EU Settlement Scheme.

Settled cannot advise on matters related to benefits and we signpost queries to the Works Right Centre.

If you have not applied yet, do read our pages on applying for the EU Settlement Scheme for further information and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

We’re here to help you with your Settled Status to remain in the UK. We have 100 volunteers on hand who can provide advice in all EU lanaguages.
